Sorry, this isn't tech related.
I saw this movie tonight and it really got me thinking. Not only do I seem to have a deep appreciation for these animals because of their intelligence, but eating these animals with mercury inside them could potentially cause huge problems. The movie addressed many issues, the main one being the murder of these innocent brilliant animals.
Watch the movie sometime if you haven't. It really touched me.

A long time..

Since i haven't blogged in a while, thought i would. If anybody is actually looking here, and wants to learn something.. feel free to shoot me an email and i will forsure post something.

Another new jailbreak

This might be the easiest there is, but you have to be running 3.1.2, the most recent ipod version. All you need to do is:

A)Download this:
B) Connect your ipod, run that program^^^, and bam.
But i do not think this runs on vista, so if you are running windows vista try at your own risk.

Computer Running slow?

Try this:
Install Spybot: Search & Destroy:


Run a scan, get rid of spyware.

Defragment your hardrive by going to start, accessories, system tools, then Disk Defragmentor. Run it. Wait, and leave it alone.

BUY MEMORY, or RAM. Find out what your computer's name is. Like mine is a Compaq presario X6000. Go to bestbuy, ask somebody there about RAM, tell them whether it's a desktop or laptop, and have them help you to RAM. I would reccomened at least 1GB to speed you up. I would be happy to help install RAM, for $5. Email me.

To Jailbreak: Revised

OK so I realized my directions were not to straightforward. So I am going to make them that way. This can be done with any device, other than the "new" ipod touch. So if you got it in the last month, don't use this method. It works with iphones too.

1) Figure out what your device is, and what firmware it is running. Your ipod is a 2g if it has a speaker, a 1g if it doesn't.
A) on your ipod/iphone, go to settings, then general, then about, and in there there is something that says version. It should be either 2.2.1, 3.0, or 3.1.1.
Whichever it is, remember it.
B) If it is 3.1.1, as of now, you cannot be jailbroken, so check back here later
C) Go to this site: http://www.felixbruns.de/iPod/firmware/
and on the bottom part, find your device, and your firmware you just discovered. Once you have it selected, click download. This may take awhile. Remember/know where it downloaded


2) Download redsnow here: http://www.box.net/shared/r9rgh784b7
3) Run redsnow with your ipod/iphone plugged in.
A) On the first step, there is a browse button. Click it, and find the firmware you downloaded in part 1c
4) Follow the rest of the steps, exactly how they read, and make sure the box entitled "install cydia" is checked.
5) Wait, and soon you should have a jailbroken ipod/iphone!

i failed to mention how the apps add tot the ipod.. i'll throw out a couple examples. Slingplayer: Live cable tv, right in my hand, anywhere i have wifi. maps, gives you turn by turn directions, and can tell you where you are, when on the internet. Had i had a functioning ipod next to me, i'd say more. but i don't:)

iPod vs zune..and beyond

Of course, this is only my opinion, and I'm willing to back it up. In iPod vs Zune, current generation, iPod wins. Even the current generation ipod touch beats the next generation zune "hd." Lets compare specs and whatnot. The iPod touch has 3 storage capacities: 8,16, and 32. The Zune hd has two: 16 and 32. the 32 does run cheaper, by 100 smackers. Next: features. iPod, appstore, beautiful music and video player, and plenty of organization and fun utilities. It also has a built in speaker, and stereo Bluetooth. The Zune hd: hd radio, music and video playback. It also has similar internet capabilities as the ipod touch. Here's what's crazy. The Zune "HD" has a screen resolution of 480 x 272. The iPod touch has a screen resolution of 480 x 320. Do you see the difference, I do see the iPod touch having a few more pixels then the zune hd! Good work microsoft! Also, in order to watch your 720p hd movies, you have to attach your zune to a hd dock, which i would bet runs between 50 and 100 bucks. theres your price difference. Also, for tech people like me, you always need more.the ipod can be jail broken, which allows you to take complete control of the ipod, and change every aspect of it. Last time i checked, the zune hasn't brought enough interest to the hacker community to even attempt it. So all in all, the CURRENT ipod touch, in my opinion, beats out the next generation zune hd which comes out next week. Not to mention new ipods come out on wed. So we'll probably have to run this again. Also, this doesn't make me an apple "fanboy." i will never buy a mac over my pc, and i would probably buy a google phone over the iphone, if i had that choice.
